"For the Community by the Community"is the motto of VP CAP, a neighbourhood security initiative which operates on the northern side of Victory Park. It was initiated by residents in the area who provided the initial start-up capital and is now funded by their monthly subscriptions. Since its inception in March 2008 VP CAP has achieved a 90% success rate in combating crime in the area.
VP CAP incorporates a state of the art Incident Command & control Centre which serves as a single point of contact for all residents. Our neighbourhood is patrolled by a high performance response vehicle which is manned by top flight tactical response officers 24/7/365.
CELL OUT ON CRIME
CAP utilises a proven, proactive methodology which includes a combination of observation, early identification, intelligence gathering and unrelenting surveillance. Aligned with its stated objective of a security initiative "For the Community, by the Community", the CAP intelligence gathering strategy is reliant on residents making regular calls to the CAP Control Centre to report suspicious and criminal activity.
